a littleabout us

CRANE Public Transit is the public transit system for the Urbanized Area of Grand Island, Nebraska. The City of Grand Island currently contracts with Brown Transit, Inc. to provide transit service for the general public.
We offer a portal-to-portal, demand-response service which makes reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities. A minimum 24-hour notice is required from an individual needing transportation. Attempts will be made to book same-day trips if they are available.
CRANE Public Transit is committed to remaining accessible to seniors and people with disabilities. CRANE’s buses are all ADA accessible. If an individual has difficulty boarding or getting secured on the bus, a personal attendant may ride along for free. CRANE is required to make reasonable modifications or accommodations to policies, practices and procedures upon request to ensure individuals with disabilities have equal access to its transit programs and services.
