Transit Planning
Transportation planning is a cooperative process designed to foster involvement by all users of the transit system, such as businesses, community groups, environmental organizations, the traveling public, freight operators, and the general public, through a proactive public participation process.
For CRANE Public Transit, the transportation planning process is conducted by the Grand Island Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (GIAMPO), in cooperation with the Nebraska Department of Transportation, Hall County, the City of Grand Island, and transit providers.
A new Transit Development Plan is created every five years, in coordination with the Federal Transportation Administration (FTA’s) best practices.
